I need some advicewith my m reg 3.1 bighorn. The engine management fuse in the dash on the right of the steering wheel keeps blowing and the vehicle goes into limp mode. You can put a new fuse in whilst it is going and it will go for awhile.
Does anyone know if this may be the ecu. Has anyone else had this type of problem? If it could be the ecu can they be tested by any garage or is it specialist equipment needed. Sorry so may questions but i'm desperate to get the vehicle roadworthy again. Thanks for any advice

youve a short somewhere i suspect.

id check ALL the engine's wiring ... everything to check for loose/dirty, broken connections.

Ensure your earths are in good order..good practice really.

and if all is good underbonnet, delve under the dash to see if theres any frayd wires causing you havoc.

Whats the fuse rating, and what does it correspond to on the casing diagram?

Thanks for your reply. The fuse is marked engine management and wire leads to ecu. It is a 15 amp fuse. The wiring has been looked at fairly well but there is no obvious problem.

check other fuses for any blown or not, ive had alternators cause this problem in the past, regulators not reducing voltage enough and fuses go pop.
