can anyone tell me the location of the two oil filters on a 3litre 04 reg trooper and do they need filling with oil before fitting

The small/secondary/injection/bypass one is down by the bottom of the dipstick tube  and the main one is behind the exhaust on the other side of the engine .

You wont fill them with oil as one is upside down and one is at an angle. See the oil  filter change sticky post on a very good tip to avoid mess with the angle one .

Do be sure that the old rubber seals come off with the old filters , can cause leaks if they dont  Smile

Most important is to make sure you put the correct oil in!!!

Fully Synthetic 5W30

hi there just changed oil & filter on my1999 3.0 trooper i got told by my local factor that it should have 10w/30 semi synthetic and this is what i have used i noticed you recommend 5w /30 will this make any difference ???

It may not run properly and probably wont start in very cold weather.

get it out it's to thick it has to be 5/30 or lower fully synthetic
