Maybe our customs and excise guys are alot keener
They do bother about the bio and if road duty is payable on it
Loads of people round here are running on it
So at the regular check points they do ask all sorts of questions
One guy told them he made his own, so they went to his house to see the gear and raw product
No gear, no sign of making it, bang bosh £500 fine
You can only use 2500 ltr duty free if you make it yourself
and you can not simply add something to the finished stuff and claim you made it
BUT LIKE I HAVE SAID ....... TELL THEM THE CORRECT STORY AND YOU SHOULD BE OK
anyway after my recent injector seals failure and big repair bill
i am not running the 3 ltr ones on it
just the 3.1
hopefully some 3 ltr bio users will tell me they have had no problems
and i may try it them again
cheers

I run my 3.0 on 12% veg oil in winter, and up to 33% in summer. It runs fine, starts no problem and performs slightly better. Economy is marginally better and performance feels slightly better. Regular filter changes and all ok so far. about 8k done on it over the last year.
For my part, I dont bother with rapeseed oil, I use ordinary veg. No issues so far, but i keep the %age down.
I record the white diesel in by fuel card, and the veg oil by cash and carry invoice! There is no danger of even coming close to the 2500 litres! _________________ '98S reg Irish Trooper 3.0DT Citation (LWB 7seat)

Just keep a record of how much you use. I'm using 90% WVO and 10% Misfuel atm. I use about 2000 litres a year.
Nothing to worry about aslong you're not using Red Diesel, thats what they are usually testing for when dipping ya tank. _________________ 1996 N Isuzu Trooper Duty LWB 3.1TD

just read this topic with interest.
as i work for the b******s i think im in a pretty good position to say that 'so far' when check-points are set up they are checking for red or green or diesel that has been tampered with i.e. the dye removed.
as for the stuff you buy in drums and dont pay the duty on, its exactly the same as the stuff pumped into your tank with duty paid. its produced exactly the same but if its put into your tank you pay duty, if its put into a drum you dont. if you then choose to tip it into your tank thats your choice
please dont ask me for any inside info as that would be a sackable offence
