Hi Folks,

When I got my '97 trooper a while back, it had a chip in the windscreen, this has turned into quite a hefty crack now, new windscreen definately needed for mot soon, but also I lent the vehicle to my dad a few weeks back, - he tried to shut the rear 'tailgate' door, shame the bit of wood he bought was way too long for the vehicle and shattered the large rear window into a million pieces!

Glass is not covered on my insurance, so are the front and rear screen a DIY job, or should it be left to someone who knows what the 'crack' is  Rolling Eyes
I've replaced a windscreen many years ago in a fiesta with string and washing up liquid... but are the trooper ones troublesome/bonded in?

Many thanks,
Wez.

Rear window is def bonded as well as looked at replacing mine as I have some rust at the bottom corner and cannot fix rust patch without replacing window as that is where rust is

Ended up just leaving it

I had some quoates recently and they were all around the £150 mark.

When i bought the truck i had to change insurances so paid a one off fee for windscreen cover at £25, use once only type of thingy but at that price i'm not bothered.

Try playing one off against another to bring down the price, usually works.
