|
|
Has anyone got any tips on how to remove the very "90's" bodywork sticker on my LWB Bighorn with the Irmscher bodykit?
I'm referring to the long "stripe" pattern that runs the length of the vehicle about half way up the doors.
A friend suggested soaking it in either meths or petrol then removing it with a combination of "soft" plastic scraper and a cloth. _________________ '94 Big Horn Irmscher LWB, 3.1TD auto. |

Thanks.
Is that before or after applying the meths/petrol? _________________ '94 Big Horn Irmscher LWB, 3.1TD auto. |

I wouldn't put meths or petrol on paintwork for any length of time, The hairdryer trick alone should do it, Any residue left can be removed with very hot soapy water or t'cut or similar if water dosen't do it. _________________

A high powered jet wash works too!
My hubby blasted most of mine away while playing with his new toy.
Am just grateful that he didn't hit any rusty bits or I may have been left with a hole or 3 to sort.
Now all I have to do is decide whether to leave it without the pin stripe or find my self a nice shiny chrome one and add a bit of bling! _________________ If you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem. |

Ive used petrol or wd40 to destroy the sticky stuff its fine as long as you wash it off well a hot air gun is good too but can still leave the sticky stuff behind _________________ 1999 3.1td SWB Trooper. RIP

Hair dryer and then WD40 to remove the glue thats left behind, then you will almost certainly need to cut the paintwork back. I removed the stickers from our old suzuki SJ and found that the paintwork underneath was dreadful, obviously the factory wasn't too bothered about the finish and hadn't even bothered to flat it back. _________________ Phil
