Its an Apache rtx 100 Quad with electronic choke.
All was fine until yesterday when we assumed it was low on fuel, it starts and ticks over fine but only gives a burst of power then dies, you can stop it cutting out by letting off the throttle.
It has a gallon of new fuel in, the 2 stroke tank if full, the filter is as clean as a whistle and fuel runs freely when I drain the float chamber.
Any ideas as its doing my head in  Evil or Very Mad

Have you stripped the carb down? Sounds like you have something sticking in there. Could even be the float. There's not too much to them is there?

I didnt think of a sticky float, before I go stripping it I'm going to give it a drowning in carb cleaner.

I hate two strokes, sometimes though its better to run them dry if its going to be left for any time as the jets tend to get clunged up with oily goo especially over the winter.  My chainsaw is a *beep* for starting in the spring so now I use a fuel stabiliser/cleaner all year round and always empty the fuel tank and run it dry at the end of autumn.

Always turn the fuel tap off and run the motor till it die's if it's going to be park'd for any length of time, they have a habit of leaking past the float seat and filling the bottom of the crankcase then next time you fire it up and open the throttle it pull's up the fuel from the case and floods the motor.

The auto lube system only injects the oil into the fuel-air mix from a seperate tank when the motor is running.
