You can do whatever you like as long its your own wires  Rolling Eyes  

My old boss would touch wires to find which were live, just a quick flick, they dont teach you that in college

I learned that. Always use the back of the fingers though, that way if it's live the muscles contracting will pull the hand away from the current source.
I don't recommend it though, many apprentices got punched in the head for being a bit close. Wink
