I've heard over the weekend about this site that is campaigning for cheaper fuel prices and is looking to secure discounted fuel for members of the site by issue of a memmbership card which, by the looks of it, is produced on payment of fuel.
I've registered, but is it to good to be true....have a look and make your won mind up.

Well I'm all in favour in cheaper fuel, and I certainly don't see in any harm in registering on the site.
I have a Platimum privilage card, which is given to me through my wifes work. This gives me all sorts of discount from many retailers: eg
10% at any Burtons, 25% at Pizza hut etc.
Not bad for a freebee.
So if there's a possibility of getting a discount card for fuel, why not.
regarding tranfering this post to small talk, I wouldn't regard it as small talk, especially reading some of the non related rubbish (Idle chit chat not consistant with the original post) replies I happen to see within this forum.

Although I've registered, I get the sneaky feeling that it's a scam to get loads of fule buyers' details & sell them on to a gas chain. Anyone read the Terms & Conditions that we all clicked our agreement to? _________________ 1995 Vauxhall Monterey

the problem is chaps the people we buy our fuel off run at break even,or even a loss they cannot give the discount and make profit,The explorers, the people who pump the stuff from the ground, the refiners, the goverment, the whizz kids in the city of london make the money. This is all well thought out so firms ,groups, clubs, etc cannot band together for a discount. Its a great idea that has sadley been around for years...But good luck chaps. and i hope you can do it......Now the pizza powered trooper, not since the flintstones has this been possible |

I thought the card would just be the same principle as what big companies have, eg-Transco,British Gas,BT etc..., where everyone has a card and uses it when buying fuel, as with the card the fuel is less that the price quoted out side |

Frank, My thoughts exactly, as we all know, the greater part of the cost of fuel is tax, and the retailers get precious little of the cake, so how can they give discount in an already cutthroat trade and remain in business?
Therefore I am also very suspicious of such an offer. I read the 'conditions' and they are as watertight as a colander!
Will wait and watch developments with interest.

Thanks for giving this topic a good airing guys. A couple of differing views which is always good. I also believe that if something looks to good to be true it normally is but on this occasion, and because it's not costing me anything, I thought it would be worth a go.
I'll keep you posted. |

I registered back at the start ... I get the odd update now and again - usually some sort of 'latest offer'
