Morning Guys,

I've got my eye on a 1998 Trooper that's in a local dealership. (£3250 ono)
My only real concern is that its last service was at 54k, its now done 87k.

What I'm trying to ascertain are the costs to me in bringing its servicing up to date (obviously this is where my limited powers in negotiation will come in to try and drop his bottom line).

Another thread mentions that the timong belt should be changed at 60k, it this also relevent for this vehicle and will it have caused a problem?

Any advice greatly appreciated.

TIA

Craig

33,000 without a service Exclamation options are, if this is true , walk away, if you realy want it and it runs ok then personaly I would laugh in the dealers face and show hin £2,000 in cash. Take if from there , but in all probability it has had service work done but not recorded ( unless the sump is full of treacle ) but a good bargaining point though
Good luck
Lynn

My wife inherited a Cherokee company car from someone wen we had to trade her two door Freelander in for a four door. This had been through three or four different drivers in a short time as a pool car hack and had missed three or four services. Its howed too as the brakes were rubbish, it had an oil leak and ran badly. A good full service later and a few repairs and it was happy again. The point I'm making isit is possible for it to have been neglected in this way. I'd personally lay a bet that as Lynn said, it has been serviced by an independant/owner and just not been recored. I'd eiter ask the seller to bring it up to date or ask for a big chunk off.
