|
|
This ford is on a green lane in essex i was going to on the way back from essex offroad pay and play, they were stuck there for around 1hr 30 min before i arrived. The diesel dicovery had started to float whilst crossing and then stalled the owner and other two discovery he was with didnt really have much idea of getting it out.
after a couple recovery attempts and the flow of the water it ended up like this and there was no way to over power the water
Please click youtube link for the titanic moment
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OVzspIQdZxs&feature=share&list=UUia1p_thBrjRa22pm9R6N3w
and finally awaiting a recovery firm to collect it who were sending a "4x4 pickup" what good that was going to do i dont know
The mate of the stuck person said its a 200tdi it will be fine once out if it were a 300tdi its wouldnt
Just incase people get the wrong idea the gate is not blocking the lane or isnt on private land the exit to the ford runs along the fence next to it. |

they did have ropes/strops and winch etc but with the angle the vechiles were at nothing worked the person with the winch had to cut his brand new rope to release his motor. |

ahh ok ...... just in 1st pic can't see how they couldn't attach a rope or winch and drag it out backward while it was still at the bankside ....or at least keep a recovery strap attached to another truck to stop it floating away ??? _________________ LTM NO.41 |

yeah, what you cant see in the pics is the winch cable under water from rear the towing eye to the trees and another one which is wrapped around the spare wheel was at one point hooked around the post of the gate to another disco on the other side.So one was pulling it away from the trees whilst the other was trying winch it back to the entrace to the ford, but this just pulled it further into the flow of the water. |
