Hi all,

Just got another Trooper after not having one for a while.
This ones a keeper I think, I already like it a lot. Nicest Mk3 i've been in.

UK car, LWB, been local all its life, all previous mots, some history, 124k miles, manual, loads of toys.

Needs a few niggles sorted as they all do, but its a nice truck over all.

I havent tidied it up yet, but here it is...

Anybody spots me around the north east, give me a beep lol

few small updates, havent done anything drastic yet....

First job was to slip a new alternator belt on, as it was squealling away, and at full adjustment

When i got it, someone had smacked the trucks bum:

so thanks to trooperdan for the light, that was sorted, he also sent me some light gurads for the body lights:

fitted:

I still need to sand the light guards and give them a coat of satin black, as they're a bit scabby, and fettle the back bumper a bit where its had a knock.

The frontpipe was split in two when I got the truck,  fed up of sounding like a dumper truck, i picked up this passenger and fitted him:

On the way home, sitting in rush hour traffic, i got an almighty vibration through the truck, nearly rattled my teeth out.
I immediately turned the engine off and popped the bonnet...

Magic! The fan has snapped off!
So at the roadside I set to work with what little tools i had (pliers), but luckily i had a bag of 10mm nuts in the back.

5 mins later and i was back on track, with only a few small grazes on the radiator:

I still have no fan, and it still hasnt went past 1/3rd on the temperature gauge... will get something sorted (electric) soon before summer

I had a feeling my alternator was playing up, so i got this digi multimeter from eebuygum china - also handy for internal/external temperature:

Turns out my alternator is charging at 16v above 2500rpm!!!

Fitted my CB and burner using a din surround, burner now hidden under the dash:

Fitted a cheap chinese 35w 4300k HID kit (needed some wiring tweaks) and also LED sidelight bulbs:

I also got some LED bulbs for the interior lights, but they were very dim... so I ordered some LED strips, and wired them into the interior light, so when the doors open:

We have Light!!!!

The alternator finally died (and flattened my batteries with it!)
So after a rebuild with a years warranty, I have a shiney one:

all fitted and charging correctly now Smile
(ignore the tape over the bonnet pin in the background, its to stop the alarm going crazy with the batteries disconnected)

check back for the next exciting episode lol!!!
