If you've a highlift I'd recommend learning how to change a tyre... Might be a pita, but also might get you out of some real stick at some point Wink

MATT, please please !! when leaving a hi-lift, make sure that the arm is locked in the upright position !

You'd know if that arm kissed your jaw Wink Very Happy

Im sure while under load and the jack set in the raised position it would be fine, however i would not want to be on the recieving end if it were in the lowering position Shocked  Shocked  Shocked

While on the subject of Hilifts, i removed A grizzley claw today from a 10j rim using the hilift against the weight of the beast! Tomorrow i will be taking the rest of them to kwik fit Shocked  Shocked  Shocked  What a ball ache! never again Embarassed  Embarassed

Really?  I found it straight forward Confused  How thick is the side wall on a grizzley? Was a set of BFG AT's which I changed...

the side wall is the only thing I can see that might make it difficult?

Not sure what sort of fluid they used to seat the beads on the rims but it didnt want to come off! Nope never again unless im in dire straites and need too Embarassed  Embarassed  Embarassed

Cheers

I think you will find it can't lock upright when at the top, due to the fitting being too wide.

Mine hit the mat a day after I ordered it. Who did you order from?

I have taken the bull bar off with a view to replacing the now bent bumper. The bar needs tiding up but am hoping to replace it with something else...

Next time I jack it up I will measure it Very Happy The back wheel still had weight on though. Better do it on level ground.

You don't always have a tyre changing machine and a compressor on a track though Wink

With a hilift it's possible to change a tyre with 1 jack, 1 tyre lever and 1 screw driver, it appears that it depends on how the tyre is attached to the rim, but it's possible...

Imagine your out with a landrover who's on 15 in rims, and you shred 2 tyres, landy rims won't fit a trooper, but the tyre would... would get you out of a hole load of trouble swapping a tyre over...

Does it not have that tin clip to lock off with?

Yes but when you are right at the top it is too wide due to the winching atachment.
