|
|
Hi guys another noob.
I have just bought a 1999 S reg Trooper citation 3.0D
Test drove it and it was all fine so bought it.
about 15 minutes of driving it home it started running lumpy and then cut out at a junction.
Got it running and had to keep the revs up to stop it cutting out.
Then after about 15 miles it cut out in traffic and would not start for about 5 minutes then it started fine but still rough and wanting to cut out.
Any suggestions what to look for when i have a look tomorrow i have seen on the forum some thing about the orcv?.
Any help is much appreciated.
Thanks Jaymes |

ok, find the big plug by the dipstick tube and you will see one half is full of pink wires so you need to concentrate on the other half. in the middle of one of the rows there should be a white wire but it might now be brown or yellow with age, you need to either remove the pin from the plug or cut it but leave enough to rejoin it again.
so when it cuts out on you and won't restart cut or remove the wire and see if it starts, if it does you need a new orps. this is a test only don't drive it with the wire disconnected.
also check the top of the tank for dampness as it's common for them to rot out and suck air and also bypass the fuel primer with one of those inline filters as the primer unit is also prone to letting air in. |

there is most likely a reason it was cut so keep an eye out for random cutting out non starts or hesitating |
