Wotcher folks,
I'm after a bit of a basics buying guide here, as I'm not sure what common issues are with Troopers.
I've found a couple on the now legendary eebuygum, which have caught my eye a bit.
One is an R-plate 3.1 citation, item 191934867859 which looks quite nice. The other is a 3.0 / 3.1 conversion by independant isuzu, item 262580080696
The second is obviously newer, but is manual and has the 3.1 engine, so that's alright. Independant Isuzu seem to have a lot of positive feedback on here, so given that they're in Yorkshire while I'm in Gloucestershire, is it safe to assume that they'd be on the ball regards rust and whatnot?
Any thoughts at all? |

Yes Independent Isuzu have a very good rep. Go on to their website and get Dan's number and give him a bell. He'll be quite busy this weekend so leave a message if there's no reply. _________________ Khotso........... |

Not unreasonable in price then?
-edit-
Spoken to Dan, it's already sold.
Back to considering the older one I guess |

Anyone vaguely local who might consider checking it over for me?
I'm quite happy to pay expenses for time & travel if so... |

Hi Jim
Dan is the ITOC version of Greg .. though less riggers and more wellies.
Can guarantee any truck he has will be tip top.
Things to look out for are front and rear crossmembers behind the bumpers, and the standard Frontera stuff. Additional things are lower rear door shuts on the rear side doors and the door window frames on all doors. That is the main rot points. I have also seen rot forming under the kick plates on all door shuts. Windscreen surrounds is another place as well. _________________ 1990 Isuzu Bighorn LWB Mk.I 2.8TD Manual Lotus Edition

Apologies for the digress, but since Jim mentioned it in his search, is the 3.1 lump transplant into a 3.0 a reasonable project?
With consideration to the Mk2/3 hitting the 20 year old mark and the potential rust worm problems going for a newer Mk4 chassis/bodywork might not be such a bad idea. Is there a write up on this project? |

Unfortunately, he's only got SWB or commercial ones in the pipeline, so...
The search continues |
