HI ALL,
TRIED PLUGGING TO A TRAILER THIS MORNING, AND SOMETHING SOMEWHERE MUST HAVE BLOWN, AS NOW I'VE NO REAR LIGHTS, THE INDICATORS WORK OK, TRIED ALL THE FUSES I COULD FIND AND THEY ARE ALL OK, HOWEVER, THE BLUE RELAY IN THE FUSE PANEL SEEMS LIKE A NEW ONE BUT REMOVE IT AND THE BLOWER WORKS REPLACE AND IT WONT, ODD, I'VE ONLY HAD THIS TRUCK FOR A FEW MONTHS, WONDER IF THE BLUE RELAY WAS A PROBLEM BEFORE I BOUGHT IT. THE MAIN HEADLIGHTS ARE OK, ANYONE GOT ANY IDEAS??? HELP SOMEBODY!!!!.

Do you mean you have no rear lights on the Trooper or just on the trailer? If it's the trailer then it's probably just dodgy wiring, if it's the trooper as well then it's possibly still dodgy wiring with a short somewhere and it's possibly blown that relay. _________________ Phil

HI PHIL,
I MEANT TO SAY THE LIGHTS ON THE TROOPER, [SORRY] I REWIRED THE TRAILER PLUG FOR SOMEONE ELSE YESTERDAY AND ALL THE LIGHTS ARE WORKING FROM THAT VEHICLE, HOWEVER IT WAS ONLY WHEN I TRIED MY VEHICLE THAT IT BLEW THE RELAY OR A FUSE, WELL, WOULD BE MINE WOULDN'T IT, THE OTHER VEHICLE IS STILL WORKING AWAY FINE, SO F--K KNOWS WHAT THE PROBLEM IS , ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED.
PS. I THINK THE SAID RELAY WORKS THE BLOWER,HEATED REAR WINDOW, AND GOD KNOWS WHAT ELSE, I DONT HAVE ANY BOOK FOR THE TRUCK.

Hi Jimbo,
I too have blue relay problems, see alternator concerns. So far from what my flu addled brain can assertain from my replies is that....and someone please correct me if I'm wrong.
The blue relay controls where the alternator charge goes to. possibly to protect those delicate electrical bits. Ie. too much current, blue relay switches heater controls off and warning lights on. I suspect that when mine did this it sacrificed itself in the process, possibly yours too.
Perhaps that other vehicle was a lot less sensitive to overloads. It's a pain but I would check your wiring again and try and find a blown fuse.
Hope this helps.

HI IFA-LUVA,
WHAT YOU SAY SOUNDS ABOUT RIGHT, I'LL HAVE TO TRY AND FIND A NEW RELAY, SUPPOSE IT SHOULDN'T BE TOO HARD TO COME BY,!!!!!.
I'V HAD A SHUFTY ABOUT IN THE BEAST TODAY, BUT THE THINGS GOT MORE FUSES THAN HALFORDS, LOOKSLIKE IT'S PERSEVERENCE TIME.
