Hi all,
I have just joined the club as I have owned my first trooper for a couple of years now and am having a wee bit of a problem with her now. I was told about this great site form Milner off road so I could get some top tech advice on my troop.
Well here goes, I noticed the other day that my heaters where blowing cold air even with the temp turned right up high, I checked all my gauges on the 4x4 and everything seems fine but when I finished work I decide to check the coolent level which seems to have dropped a slight bit. I then opened the radiator filling cap and to my surprise it had a load of pressure in the system which covered me and all the engine bay🙄.
This was when the engine was cold sorry😂,I then topped up the coolent and drove her home about 8miles and to my surprise I had hot air coming out of my vents. Then the next morning it went back to no hot air coming through again and the top water hose has a lot of pressure in it again, also the bottom water pipe was just slightly warm and no pressure in it. I hope you can help me with this as I hope it is an easy fix. Oooh I am also having trouble finding a workshop manual for the engine I have in my 4x4. Any help would be much appreciated many thanks DAVE 😊👍🏻👍🏻 |

hi dave,
seems weird when you say the top hose had pressure but the bottom didn't, have you checked the rad isn't blocked? |

Hi,
I have drained the rad from the bottom and it emptied fine, I also checked the thermostat was working ok and it’s finr to, so I have started to strip down the head to see if it has cracks at all. |
