Hi Guys, Im Sohan from Srilanka and new to this forum. Appreciate your thought on this issue !

Bighorn aka Rodeo ( Automatic 3.1 Diesel LWB 4JG2) takes time to shift into high gear, when additional acceleration is given, i see the RPM increasing but the vehicle moves at snails pace for about 2-3 Km and suddenly picks up to normal speed, this problem keeps recurring all the time !

Note:Gear & Engine oil was also replaces !
Best regards,
Sohan

The automatic 3.1 will hold the lower gear for a couple of miles from first startup in order to heat the gearbox oil. Once its up to temp, gear changes should be normal and top gear achieved at approx 42mph. If it is dropping down the gears regularly when cruising it is likely to be the throttle position sensor (TPS) that has worn and needs replacement. They need to calibrated once fitted.
