Can any one say how to wire an amp. Meter in a 3.0 trooper  pleas and thanks

I'd flag it and fit a voltmeter
then it's a walk in the park to wire up, like across your cig lighter will work and it's protected by a fuse.

An ammeter would need 2 cables larger than the main alternator cable as a minimum or you'll loose charging grunt. wired handy to the battery.

I had a cig lighter led voltmeter and it was ok and close enough [to a fluke] if the car was a non smoker.
