Hi all, I could do with some help ASAP as my 97 3.1 trooper is going in for some work and MOT in a couple of weeks....the crossmember which holds the radiator / front bumper etc is rotten to hell, I know it needs a new one but where the hell sells them? I can’t find one anywhere.

Also, thought this might be an opportunity to wack on an aftermarket steel front bumper...doesn’t need to be a winch bumper but a decent steel one as the current bumper is knackered....does anyone have one for sale or know where I could get one without spending the earth?

One last question, on full lock when turning right there is a grinding / rubbing noise which can be felt through the passengers feet, it’s not the mud tyres catching, again any ideas?

Sorry for the questions but I’m trying to weight up whether it’s worth spending the money on the old girl, it’d pain me to ditch her as the engine is god as gold!

Thanks in advance for all / any help.

As I recall the radiator support x-member is not available as a seperate item.
you are going to have to cut out, and weld in, one cut from another trooper.

If the truck is worth saving to you, it's worth spending the money.

Don't know where you are in the country, but Trooper Dan, 'Independant Isuzu' on here may be able to help?

Thanks Nick, that’s great, I’ve been doing some digging and the by chance my local mechanic in the village did one a couple of years back and had to order the part from the backside of nowhere in Eastern Europe, not cheap but I do think it’s worth doing.

I was hoping to get the truck up to Independent Isuzu but it’s almost a full day out for me and I’m out of time, I will be taking it up there for a full check up early next year, full front to back scenario!

It’s having the crossmember, suspension brackets, CV’s, service and loads of other bits done but the engine is extremely strong, heated seats still work and it’s never let me down....the old chap that owned it for 16 years before me spent an absolute fortune on it including a brand new engine at 75k because it was making a funny noise! It looks tatty but we have to keep them going! Thanks again!
