Good chance to get some longer mounts made up to give you some extra lift though! _________________ Phil

Well I cant really take it back as its the 1/2 way round the M25 & other end of the M1 from its current resting place, and the "repair" was an emergency get it mobile for beer money job, so complaining is kinda not practical or decent.
As for getting longer shackles made up, when its wearing 7.50x16s ground clearance is not much of a problem being a SWB _________________ Yes its for wheel drive, yes it goes where a vectra fears to roll |

Not completely certain as being an "agricultural" tyre my usual calculator wont play ball, but I would guess something like 32" or 235/85 (Diameter only, the SAT tyres are very narrow for digging in deep).
Its the real tall skinny ones with almost a tractor tread pattern you often see on farmers old Landrovers. When I put them on a range rover that had acres of space in the arches for 205/80R16 the 7.50s caught badly on both the outer arches and the chassis/inner arches when sat on the workshop floor. However they nicely filled the arches on my troop without fouling anywhere even when trying to break the rear axle crossing a concrete culvert _________________ Yes its for wheel drive, yes it goes where a vectra fears to roll |

7.50s are roughly the diameter of 235/85/16s but nearly 50mm narrower. The tread pattern usually doesn't extend right to the shoulder either! Very skinny for the weight & speed of the Trooper if you were driving on a hard surface, but excellent to cut through a loose surface to look for something hard underneath. _________________ 1994 KZJ70 Cruiser (currently filling the garage and causing some head scratching)

These were Deestone SATs, copies of the old Firestones with full width tread. The dogs gonads on anything wet or muddy, but tall skinny crossply tires make drivind a light, short truck with no rear suspension to talk of an "interesting" experience to say the least Luckily the massive overgearing, and a tired 2.3 motor meant high speed was never really much of a problem _________________ Yes its for wheel drive, yes it goes where a vectra fears to roll |
