can you please shed any light on to the sequance and clearance on the 3.1tdi engine?

There shold be a sticker on the radiator panel, under the bonnet.

The clearance is 0.4mm, i would recommend getting No 1 cyl on its firing stroke then adjust No4 and so on.

According to Isuzu dealers you should set the engine so no1 piston is at TDC, and adjust (working from the front) the first 3 valves, then miss the next 2 and adjust the next.
Turn the engine in the normal direction for one complete turn (via Crankshaft) then adjust the remaining 4 (ie from front the 4th, 5th, 7th & 8th). I just done mine this way and it sounds much sweeter.
