|
|
Is the torque on demand system work like shift on the fly if not does somone know how it works. I do not have a push button on the dash for selecting 4wd just small stick for 4wd also no manual hubs or auto hubs.
When in 4wd rather major metal on metal banging noise coming from front end only happens in 4wd no problems in 2wd.
Input would be great.

It works by disconecting one driveshaft with a vaccum system above the axle.
If its faulty it wont be engaging properly hence the banging.
And it is shift on the fly.
I'll dig out the post that explains in more detail. _________________ |

No worries - just checking!
I called in at the garage last night to collect my invoice etc after buying my motor... the guys at the garage were complaining my old motor would not turn eith ease and when they backed off the power it was like auto brakes a quick look at the dash switches and it had been driven for a few days in 4WD on the road - they reckon it had done around 200 miles like that _________________ Isuzu Rodeo Denver Max LE | 265/65R18 BF Goodrich AT LTM No.60

Thanks Markymoan.
That makes it easy for me to work out. Id say the shaft was not fully engaging. Had another go at 4wd & no noise.
Cheers team
