Now on my 2nd new clutch, and it's still slipping. Symptoms are - I know when it's going to give problems when then the pedal goes stiff and hard to depress. This is the 2nd clutch assembly in just over 6 months. Clutch assenbly has been replaced twice, and slave cylinder once. Where do I go now, apart from sue the garage for approx £700 quid spent so far. My lovely trooper has only done 78k and is mainly used on short trips to get my kids to a country school. I would dearly luv to get my trooper to someone who would not rip me off (Aberdeen is a problem), but give it the respect it deserves _________________ Trooper 3.2 v6 keeping alive |

mmm i think its the release bearing fork , it may have seazed or the sleve that the release bearing runs on , it looks like its sticking and causing the clutch to slip .
sorry but to fix the problem the gear box has to come off again , get another garage to have a look and sue the other garage m8 . |

i agree but to sue the garage that has done the work first u need to send them a letter explaining wot they havnt done and to fix the problem in 14 days
send it recorded delivery if they do not comply then see a solicitor taking with u a copy of the letter plus the slip for the recorded delivery
if u sue u must pay the court £75 for them to send out the relivent paper work then the garage will get off there sorry asases and fix the problem for free _________________

many thanks for your advice, seems like a multitude of problems have occurred since getting it out of the garage after 2nd clutch. Handbrake seems to stick on after pulling away (think they thrashed clutch with handbrake on to prove/disprove slipping) also lots of clunks from various places. Have since got workshop manual cd and indications are that there may be problems with shift on the fly set up (vacuum etc). wish to god I had never been to that garage (Stuart Mitchell Autos, Aberdeen) by the way! One of the guys that works for me (mechanic) is going to have a look sometime soon. Meanwhile I will inform garage that I have lost confidence in their ability, and that apart from the clutch other problems have occurred since. On the upside the electric arial now works since the clutch change. Sorry for late reply to all _________________ Trooper 3.2 v6 keeping alive |
