I am blonde and a girlie, so can get away with asking dumb questions.

I have a 3l TD trooper Y (2001)   My dumb question is where do i top up the oil.

u fill it up thru the dipstick hole, well i take it you do cos i cant see anywere else to do it, and as chris says "ALWAYS USE 5/30 OIL"
take the dipstick out 1st tho Laughing

Through the dipstick!!!!!!! Shocked
there should be a filling cap around the top of the engine i've a 3.1td so not sure of the location on your engine i'm sure someone with a 3.0 will know where the filler cap is located don't try using the dipstick tube you will just make a mess. Do you have an owners manual it will be in there?

mines a 3.0 and it says on the top of the dipstick to use 5/30 and also the dipstick tube on the 3.0 is about an inch round, so i would imagine that were it goes

makes sense!! dip stick and filler cap all one piece? like said i've got a 3.1.
i've seen people try use the dipstick tube on cars before and make a right mess of it! always fun to watch though Twisted Evil

nope i not got an owners manual.  but car going in for its recall on tuesday may ask at dealers if they can sell me one
