Problem with 1997 3.1 Deisel Citation - over the past couple of months has twice cut out whilst motoring (no power steering or brakes!). Starts ok straight after - no other problems.
Any ideas please?

I am having a similar problem with my 3.0 DT Citation.

It just cuts out completely. It is not like stalling, just cuts out with no warning.

It is almost like the ignition switch has been turned off - could this be connected with the alarm system?

Sometimes it will start straight away, other times no joy at all - it has had to be towed twice to dealer. First time they said they had drained the fuel etc. and all seemed to be okay.

It happened again and now gone back to Isuzu dealer for them to have a look at it.

Does anyone have any ideas?

The 3.0 and 3.1 are different beasts... the 3.1 cutting out is usually air in the fuel due to corroded pipes... the 3.0 question has been answered in the Engines section.

(note - where possible please keep threads related to one engine type only... it saves confusion.  ThanQ!)
