Just a note, insured my truck today and found it quite difficult for anyone to actually quote me a price!!!

Seams that the 3.1D c/w Auto 'box isnt liked by the insurance companies Confused Its a case of 'if its not on the system then we cannot quote' syndrome Exclamation

Anyhow Tesco didnt seam to find this to be a prob and i signed up straight away.

Hope this is of interest.

Justin

I too had difficulty finding insurance, even with max no claims etc I decided to use tesco but they insisted that I fit a cat2 immobilser or they would not pay out for theft or theft from the vehicle I also found out my excess is £500 for any claim, its worth shopping around any other advice out there?

Regards Bryan

Tesco's seems tobe the best, but they do insist on an immobiliser. Apparentely Adrian Flux is quite good too but i stuck with Tesco's.

tesco's were the only company to quote me.(only 20 3.5 swb 2000)
they insisted on a cat 2. but for £50 extra get a cat1 fitted as they knocked £30 of the cover cost.
and i had to have £500 excess! Rolling Eyes

(try a toad alarm/immo. you can have remote start/shut off. fitted to the system for £65) to warm your can on them frosty mornings! Very Happy

yeah but in there eyes im a boyracer Rolling Eyes
and ive only got 2 years NCB.
they wanted a lot more to insure me on an impreza turbo.
its not to bad we get stitched up when were young. my first car cost more to insure than it cost to buy and run for a year.

Hi All....I've just re-insured my 3.1 Bighorn with Frizzell and my premium was only £276 fully comp with only £150 excess. I'm no fogey yet, I'm 45, but they insured my old 2.8 too and that was only £184. One thing though...I get 10% discount through union membership but without that it'd still be cheap. If anyone wants further info from me let me know.
Leo.

TRY THE NFU £100 EXCESS NO REQUIREMENT FOR ALARM BUT DIS COUNT IF YOU FIT ONE. THIS FOR 92 TROOPER 3.2 ON LPG. DONT ASK HOW MUCH AS ITS TWO CARS ON THE SAME POLICY AND I CAN NOT REMEMBER HOW MUCH TROOPER WAS.
HOWEVER NFU HAVE GOOD RATES FOR ONE OFF CARS. I HAVE A BMW 325E WHICH I IMPORTED NEW WHEN RTNING FROM AUSTRAILIA. SPEC NOT IMPORTED BY BMW BUT NO PROBLEM WITH QUOTING. ALSO ONLY PEOPLE WHO QUOTED FOR A TRANSIT TIPPER WHEN I WAS BUILDING EXTENTION TO HOUSE.

I'm insured with CIS with no problem but have been a customer for a long time. Seem to be imports that are difficult to find someone who will insure them
