Hi,
i have a 92 3.1 duty. shortly after bringing it to france i had probs starting it. i suspected air in the system and our french mechanic confirmed it when he found that one of the fuel pipes had corroded where it enters the tank. he sorted this but it still would not start. he then said that the seal on the pump on top of the fuel filter was letting in air. he whacked a load of grease around it and said it was a good temporary bodge but needed replacing. could anyone please tell me the name of this part and whether i can get a patten one or is it an  isuzu part only?
after this she has started ok(not brilliant) but now that it has turned cold she is starting like a pig, 3 glows and then 1 or 2 keys to get her started. then i have to turn the choke dial right around to keep her ticking over at just over 100rpm, ticks over really rough with loads of white smoke. once she has warmed up she runs lovely, it is worse the colder it gets, new glow plugs? or air still in the system?
any advice greatly appreciated,
thanks, pete.
