The other day I started my engine and could hear that the fan was catching on something. I examined with a torch and noticed that the lower half of the fan cowling had come loose. I attempted to reposition it and the damn thing snapped. I pulled the rest of it out and it is now totally useless.

Had anyone fitted one of these? Is it an easy job?

I have a ‘96 3.1td Duty and the cowling is really easy to put on and off. There should be a couple of plastic push-in fixings for the top half, a screw each side holding the top and bottom half together and the bottom half has two lugs that just drop into place in their locators at the bottom. The only slightly fiddly bit is rotating the bottom half around the fan, but it’s not really a problem.

Just a tip – for the two phillips screws holding the bottom and top half together, use a magnetic screw driver as it’s very easy to drop them!
