Hey guys first post, basically I bought my LPG trooper second hand (91 model) and it all ran
fine until a friend of mine borrowed it and ran the tank completely empty.

since he borrowed it the car started backfiring on LPG only petrol seems fine, the backfire happens
when I need to put my foot down for example pulling away at lights but it doesn't backfire when I'm
just coasting or stationary.

I read somewhere that runnning the tank completely to empty could mess up the air/fuel mixture but tbh
I haven't got a clue where to begin with LPG, does anyone know any LPG garages in or around the london area that
might be able to help shed some light on this problem? any help appreciated.  Thanks

Put a new set of spark plugs on  (make sure that the gap is spot on), and a new set of ht leads. LPG can be really finikity (technical term Wink ) with the elctrics.

As above, Ht leads are a definate cause of backfire on gas and it can't hurt to put a set of plugs in, the plug gap by the way is a thou less than normal gap. You should be looking at about £27-£30 pounds for a set of ht's and £2.50 each ish for plugs. Oh and leaking air pipes will also cause backfire check air filter housing and pipework for gaps or tears Very Happy

My last vehicle was fitted with LPG and first time it was backfiring I was told by the LPG company to change HT leads, spark plugs, distributer cap and rotor arm and the backfiring stopped. After that it only happened a few times and only if I was trying to pull away fast or if I let the auto box kick down when overtaking etc, never seemed to happen though if I just dropped it down to 3rd myself.
