didn't work you'll need to upload the photo to something like photobucket.com and then link to the photo with the [img] code. _________________ For great insurance deals on 4x4s, imports and more, contact Adrian Flux :

if you look at the photo the nut in the centre is the one that is leaking i think. on closer inspection you can see that the nut has just 2 flats on it so that is why i couldnt get a socket set to fit it. there is no room to get an open ended spanner on it. what is behind this nut? can you get a tool to undo a nut with only 2 flats on it?.............im going to have to take the pump out ant i . if i do how does it locate to the engine? cant see anything and even though the pick is clear i am having to refer to it as you just cant see anything without a camra or a mirror. can you get a sal kit for the pump or is it a new pump job? if new pump how much? milners are not listing it. sorry for all the questions but i only have 12 days to fix it before my mot 14day thing runs out. thanks all |

the large nut with two flats has an o ring to seal it and the small bolt in the centre has a copper or aluminium washer
your best bet would be to run it into a diesel injection specialist i don`t think they would charge too much to replace the seal or washer and they will probably have them on the shelf |

thanks grandad, i have found out that there is 3 flats on the nut and i need a tool to take it off. been on an ozzy site and they are having the same problem with the rodeo. they are saying that the material that was used as the o ring was upgraded to a better compound after 1995 and they are saying ,running on bio tends to brake down the old stile o ring. they are also saying that using petrol as a flushout liquid also distroys the seals and o rings. have you heard this? i will do as you say and take it to a injection place. the man on the oz site had a total nightmare removing the pump so he could get on the centre nut. alot has to come out before you can remove the pump. dont fancey it mate i will have a go at most things but only have basic tools and a carport (thank god i built the carport last year ). i keep using it! |

If you put a 12mm on the bolt in the middle and give it a good tighten, it might only move a fraction (careful not to break it ) but it might be enought to swing the bigger one up a little.
Or as Grandad says, try a diesel specialist, it might be a tenna, but it'll stop things getting worse and you drawing air into teh system / not starting and stuff like that... _________________ For great insurance deals on 4x4s, imports and more, contact Adrian Flux :

thanks mate, there is an se9 one there , i will try. just to update,i rang vauxhall in bromley and the said they dont tuch diesal problems and they send the motor to "first diesal" on the thornton rd in croydon(only 4-5 miles) i rang the little man there and he said i had to replace the bolt completly , his argument was that the bolt seal is the nife edge type and the old one would be no good to go back in.i instantly dont trust this man now coz why would you have an o ring in there at all if it relyed on this nife edge what ever , anyway cut to the chase. are you sitting down? £27+vat for the bolt!!!. he has the tool to get it out with but it wont go on there with the lines in place. minimum charge for him to come and remove old nut and fit new one(5mins) £30 so £65ish and that is with me ,on the side of the road taking the fuel lines off so he can get his f*8*ing tool on the nut, oh and he reconds you have to remove the startermotor to get the extention bar in. in his time £150+vat to do in the garage and wont be to next week (coz of easter) i need a second oppinion the gasket is 75p how frustrating. where can i buy this tool? even if the tool is £30 i would save 35+ dev over there and back. cant think of anywere that sells tools like that but how has he got one? |
