|
|
Tomorrow, Saturday, Rosie and me are checking out some lanes just outside Baldock in Hertfordshire.
Bu**er all else to do in this weather! Not taking the boat out! Too wet and muddy. You go through a lock and tread
the mud through the boat. An hour on the interwotsit and I've got my routes and maps!
Only just down the road, about 6 miles. It is nothing like the Peak District, that was brilliant!
There will be no rocks, mountains or snow! Might be the odd ford and some of it is through forests.
( That is river crossings not abandoned cars).
There are some green lanes in Bedfordshire but they are closed until the end of May.
I will see if I can get some pictures. |

If you get the April 2010 edition of Total off Road it lists all the laning maps they have done since 2002(with updates) and you can order back copies
ps. the April 2010 is the one published in march, the date on the mag is allways the month after. _________________ |

Thanks Sam. Forgot the camera! But to be honest, nothing to see really. Woods and fields.
One wood will be nice when the Bluebells flower though!
I wonder if they are on line Marky |

Some of the Counties are so rubbish when it comes to BOAT's.
For Suffolk I have to go to Ipswich to see their definitive maps. Norfolk is just as bad. They both have nothing on-line.
Cambridgeshire have an interactive map but most of the time it is down. Hertfordshire is good. Their maping works.
Befordshire is good too, as is Northamptonshire. Most of the counties are very helpful on the 'phone.
Some I have driven have serious damage. Some is 4x4s going off route and there is a lot of damage to the
muddy parts by HORSES! Oh, and of course, tractors. |
