I intend to use my 0ld 3.1 trooper as a farm vehicle, never going on the road . Would running it on gas oil do it any harm? |

it must be deregisted by the dvla . ie log book handed in as scrapped. otherwise it is still classed as a road vehicle using rebated oils.
alternatively see if you can get it changed to a special types use or agricultural vehicle. therefore youll be permitted to use it a certain radius from your main base.
personally if you cant afford to run one legally, buy a diesel ford fiesta instead. |

Red diesel is exatly the same stuff as white with a marker dye added, as long as the car never drives on a public road there is no legal problem _________________ |

Used it for years in a 306 none turbo
it burns hotter and needs engine oil and diesel additive adding, this is because its a accelerant and needs calming down.

Sorry but if its sorn you can use red

Changes in the Law HM Revenue and Customs is proposing new legislation in April 2007 which will amend the 'Excepted Vehicles' list. These proposed changes include: vehicles licensed after 31st January 1998 but subsequently not used on a road who require a 'Statutory Off Road Notification' (SORN) if untaxed will only be allowed to use rebated fuel if such a declaration has been made. (A SORN is required anyway by the DVLA in these circumstances and it is an offence not to do so). |

Some Considerations Re 'SORNs' If a vehicle is subject of a Stautory Off Road Notification (SORN) to the DVLA and is found being used on a public road, then an offence is committed and also any Road Tax due will be sought by the DVLA. |

Why not just use red or cooking oil, it will save you a lot of grief, i think you will fry the turbo.

Its getting clearer now, red diesel purchased for heating cant be used in any motor vehicle, if you pay the extra tax for machinery use it can be used off road in a sorn vehicle or one registered for agri etc
My final post in this thread is,
Buy Bio in bulk, its about the same price as agri red without the red tape _________________ |
