hello all
little problem hope you can advise
had 3.1 trooper for over a year all was well been using alternate bio/reg diesel  no worries then started losing water and  getting steam from exhaust
take troop to garage and informed cylinder head gasket  gone so have work done
got troop back today  and smoking habit is still there  white grey smoke on deacceleration and idle
the mechanic is anit bio and  advised introducingjust using  normal diesel and redex also turbo not as free moving as should be
have changed fuel filter topped up with reg and put in redex
still smoking
help
refuse to spend more money on it

Is it still using water?

Sounds like unburn fuel, and changing to mineral diesel isn't going to cure that. Is the garage sure it was a head gasket and not a cracked head?

i know what you saying bout head gasket    i thought that
but it was sent away ,skimmed tested and sent back
before it went in
it over heated once, used water and was bubbles in header tank  and a trail off steam like one of fred dibnahs finest out the back
i have checked  oil and water just and they fine
the smoke is there  its like grey/white
when driving /idle its there
then when you boot it it goes

That's over fulling then buy the sound of it. They didn't take the injector pump off did they when they did the head? and put it back with the timing wrong?

Sounds like a fuel issue though - too much fuel going through when the engine is running slow, and when you put your foot down, the engine is using the excess.

Can't see why they would, but depends?

If the car didn't do it, and now it does... Take it back to the garage and tear them a new @$sehole and get them to fix it for free, if not threaten trading standards (and go through with it). Does the smoke coming out of the back STINK of diesel... haha go on get a face full Very Happy  and thick white clouds??
