Hi All
Just had the injectors and ceramic heater done on recall at lucas of mansfield (brilliant service!!!). I am getting around 400 miles on a full tank, the troop has done 114k and has full service. I have owned her for about a month and am about to send her for a full service (not dealer). Should i see a difference in MPG after service, also timing belt was done at 87k so that should be ok for another few thousand?.
Also while i'm here the front tyres appear to be wearing on the edges as though the tracking was out, had it checked and the tracking is ok, but the tyre man said this was normal for a 4x4 to do this. Is this true? And what would be a good tyre for towing and possilby towing on wet grass occasionaly.
cheers

400 miles from a tank is roughly average for a 3.0 - it all depends on what your using it for and how you drive it!
Tyres... either BF Goodrich All Terrain or General Grabber All Terrain are probably your best choice. Wet grass is a killer for any tyre except the most extreme muds, but then if its only occasionally you wont want the extra MPG or noise caused by the muds. My last set of tyres did wear slightly more on the inside edges even tho the tracking was spot on... I put it down to the weight of the Trooper etc. |

tyres will usually wear more on outside edge
they get scrubbed by the power steering when parking i think |

mine where on the insides at the front and like chris, my traking is spot on. the suspention is torshon bar and i think over time the bars bend with the weight of the motor which alters the camber angal. when they get bad i am planning to move the torshon bar round a notch to aline the wheels again move the wheels around the car. off side front and near side back both sides and then front and back on the same side with 3 to 4 months between moving them to there new positions. i have found that this dubbles the life of the tyres if that makes sence _________________ presumption is the mother of all f**kups |

1/2 right they wear more when parking because people do dry turning(turning steering while stationary) and with power steering on any car, people tend to corner a little faster as you dont get the feedback through the steering telling you you are under-steering a little bit ..........so stop chucking it into corners _________________ '92 2.8TD SWB TROOPER.............SOLD
