i down loaded from your site this morning , the program went into "my doucments", the down load took 3 hrs.
then i copied it to CD which took 5 to 6 mins, so far i think everything is right. i checked the CD disk and there is a file on.

i did the same loading procedure on the lap top as before but for some reason it does not attempt to install .

so i repeated the sequence with my first disk and it loaded untill an error message came up as before.

i seem to remener when lookimg on the CD disk it says open with ?..  it gave me a choise of icons but i dont know what they mean.

i guess it should go in.. sorry if im a pain but everything looks ok so far ?

cheers  Ray.

PS - im working untill 21.00 hrs,, so will try again then ..  Idea

Ah what you've done is copy the file to the disk. It's not a file it's an image.

In your CD recording software you'll have an option to burn disk from image, then you'll be able to sellect the .iso (cd image extension) and burn another CD - this one should work Wink

If you've never burnt an image before, don't worry, it's a little differenct to copying files.  Once it's burnt if you put the CD in the drive you should be able to navigate it (open the folders and things) - I bet at the moment you just see the windowsME.iso file?

Hi send me your address as a pm and i'll give you a genuine copy of ME free its no good to me and its just gathering dust
its genuine and has a coa on the rear - its an upgrade so you will need an old '95 or '98 disc to insert when it asks you
i think i have one of those too lol
cheers
Steve

Or just burn that CD as an image - it's the whole CD Very Happy

Remeber that it's not illegal to copy and pass on the CD's - it's the licence key which is the 'bought' bit.

Which CD burning program are you using?

You don't want to change the file extension - the .iso is an image fine, your burning program should recognise it.

Is there an advanced options selection?  If it's Nero there should be an option for 'Burn image to CD'  then browse your hard drive for the .iso file and the burning program should detect it.
