right, got ,me rapeseed oil, what is the best way to do it?
do you just pour it straight in the tank or is it best to mix it in a drum with some diesel, then pour it in the tank,
what happens if the rozzers see me doin it? can they do me for it or is it ok to run on veggie?

im starting off at 1 litre veg to 4 litre diesel so  do i need a spare fuel filter straight away in case it clogs up?

sorry for all the questions Embarassed

You can use 2500L of veg a year without paying tax on it legally,
I mix it first unless ive got over half a tank of derv.

is it true that the exaust smells like a fish and chip shop? how can they monitor the amount of veg you use? do you just mix diesal with it and that will be ok?

depending what % of veggy oil you use,100% then yes..lol

how they monitor you ?........they just ask you......lol........you have to keep all reciepts of veggy oil purchased,if asked by customs and excise, you have to provide the reciepts to prove you havent used over 2500 litres in a year

yes, just mix it with diesel Smile

there is a small loss of power, but not for that reason.............veg oil has lower flash point than diesel,kerosene/parafin has a higher flash point, and because they have slightly different chemical compounds......................well in layman terms its like very slightly adjusting the timing..................which is critical on a diesel

I've been running 50/50 for a long while now.

I don't bother whatever order I put it in the tank, although usually I'll tip the veggie into an empty tank at home and then drive round to the forecourt and top it up with the DERV. It runs perfectly well on neat veggie. I haven't had any fuel filter issues. Economy is slightly down I reckon but I haven't really noticed any loss in performance. I have noticed that I don't get any black smoke on full throttle: I assume because the slight increase in viscosity reduces the flow through the injectors at WOT.
