Guess who broke down today and didnt have a spare fuel filter  Rolling Eyes
I ended up nursing it 20 miles to get home, I think people may have thought it was a fuel protest on the A6  Laughing

What i'm saying is it is good practice to carry a spare one if you start using veggie  Smile

Rember following a bedford YMT 500 round the M25 a few years ago - that had a blocked fuel filter and we didn't have a spare with us, the motorway police were switching off the slow moving traffic ahead signs on the gantres as we were driving under them - managed to get upto ooo 5 mph occasionally Very HappyVery HappyVery Happy

Blocked fuel filters are a pita

undo the 2 10mm bolts that hold the guard and remove it then undo the 2 10mm bolts that hold the filter housing and then turn the filter housing upside down and you can undo it easy, prob easier to undo the pipes and take it off completly,
wasnt expecting the diesel filter to look like an oil filter Confused

Ive been lookin into this veg oil Rolling Eyes

Would one of these help your fuel filter problem or is the veg oil have more contamination in than diesel?

The problem is the % of glycerol in veg oil - glycerol is soap.

When you run veg oil it litterally washes any old oily depositis out of your fuel system which diesel has left there, and over time these end up in the filter, hence the need to change the filter shortly after first using bio or SVO.  It only needs changing the once though - then back to normal filter changes after that.
