my missus has a 1999 zafira ,and the abs light and a light with a car inside a triangle,(with what looks like skidmarks) are on most the time,
i assume the car/triangle one is maybe traction control???
what could be causing this? maybe brake pads need changing
also there is a button on the dash with (tc) on is this traction control ?

My guess would be that you've got a faulty wheel speed sensor. Both the ABS and the TC systems use the wheel speed sensors.

The TC switch is for turning off the TC. (thinks........ what lights come up if you operate the TC switch..........?)

Does the speedo go off also? if memory is right the speedo is controlled by n/s/f wheel sensor too. otherwise it will most likely have a fault logged

I think you're right - so it could be the o/s/f or either rear, maybe, if the speedo's working.

Your best would be to get the fault memory checked, it should indicate where the fault is.

it seems the t/c does'nt work, whether you hit the button or not,and the abs is over active if you get my meaning, but to be fair i'm not used to having t/c so it's no loss
but i'll get it checked just in case
