Its UREA - basically piss - its injected into the exhaust system and causes a regeneration burn of the soot into water and hydrogen along with some other base elements which don't harm humans
a right pain in the bum
cheers
Steve

Scania use EGR, but plan to use the SCR technology to reach Euro 6
A few others give you a choice of either (I think MAN do)
I know with Mercedes, once you're passed Euro 3, its adblue all the way

if you read up on the use of it your supposed to wear safety gear like gloves & eye protection

3.1.2 Eye Contact
Although the material is not classed as an
irritant, direct contact with the eye may produce
transient discomfort characterised by tearing or
conjunctival redness.

3.1.3 Skin
Product can produce inflammation of the skin
following prolonged contact or immersion. Skin
contact is not thought to have harmful health
effects, the material may still produce adverse
effects following entry through wounds, lesions
or abrasions, where a stinging sensation will
be felt.

4.1 Swallowed
If swallowed
• Do NOT induce vomiting.
• If vomiting occurs, lean patient forward
or place on left side (head-down position, if
possible) to maintain open airway and prevent
aspiration.
• Observe the patient carefully.
• Never give liquid to a person showing signs
of being sleepy or with reduced
awareness; i.e. becoming unconscious.
•Give water to rinse out mouth, then provide
liquid slowly and as much as casualty can
comfortably drink.
•Seek medical advice

4.3 Skin
If skin contact occurs:
• Immediately remove all contaminated
clothing, including footwear
• Flush skin and hair with running water (and
soap if available).• Seek medical attention in event of irritation.

5.2 Fire/Explosion Hazard
• Non combustible.
• Not considered to be a significant fire risk.
• Expansion or decomposition on heating may
lead to violent rupture of containers.
• Decomposes on heating and may produce
ammonia fumes.
• May emit acrid smoke.
• Reacts with sodium hypochlorite [bleach] or
calcium hypochlorite to form explosive nitrogen
trichloride.

Decomposition may produce toxic fumes

as already said its basically pig piss and deionised water, alot of owner drivers are watering it down or just putting water in the system. the other problem with it is you have to clean the pump regularly or it clogs up with crystalised pig piss
