Sounds amazing! So we've got it in the club shop ....

Click here for a direct link.

Quote:
Oils refined from crudes are not particularly good lubricants. Over the years, additives and complete synthetics have been developed to improve lubricity, film strength, stability, anti-corrosion and cleaner operation.

Even so, it has been demonstrated that friction co-efficients can be further enhanced by introducing surface modifiers into oils. These are traditionally polymer or metallic compounds with perceptible thickness.

Extralube ZX1 is a more elegant solution to the problems of friction wear. It is FREE ENTIRELY of congealing agents which can affect flow rates, design tolerances and the working of small active components.

The re-engineered hydrocarbon molecules in Extralube ZX1 actually synergise with ferrous and non ferrous metals on contact, forming a complex long-chain molecular bond which is extremely slippery and tenacious.

Extralube ZX1 acts as an intermediate, microscopic rubbing surface which continues to function after the oil film has broken down. It is measurably effective at extreme pressures and temperatures.

Extralube ZX1 has been formulated to avoid harmful side-effects, not only uncontrolled surface buildup but contains no solids or sediments and is compatible with metals, non-metals and all known lubricants, including synthetics when applied as directed.

How much do you need?

Fuel treatment :
Initial : 1ml / litre
Subsequent : 0.5ml / litre

eg : 90l tank : initial 90ml, subsequent 45ml

Engine Oil treatment :
2000-2400 : 225 ml
2500-3500 : 250 ml
3500-4200 : 300 ml

General lubrication : add @ 5%

(I'll add this in the club shop Wink )

I added this to my 1993 Trooper Citation after an engine service. My mileage has gone from 200 - 220 to a tank to about 240 - 250.

I also added some to the transmission (Its an automatic) and have noticed that the transmission fluid is now brown where before it was the same colour as the trans fluid. The car drives very well still, besides a transmission problem it has had since I first owned it (revs without going into gear sometimes). Whe I first added the zx1 the gearbox showed a marked improvement but now it seems to be a little worse than when I first got the car. Am going to ask my local garage to do a gearbox flush as I am guessing that the zx1 might have dislodged some stuff from the gearbox?

Any comments on this are welcome.

best regards

Richard

Better than good old Slick 50 and a shot of Redex ?

have a 4JX1 3.0DT, and these need as much protection as they can get.

have got it in the engine, trans and fuel tank. Can't really say there's any improvement in fuel consumption or trans behaviour but I CAN say that the moror runs far smoother/quieter than before. Sooo, was it worth £64? On balance I would say probably, er, yes. Smile

Put some of this into my engine today, still seems to smoke on hard accel, how long before I should see a noticable change to this if at all.

HI Spotted Haggis, as recommended here I ran 2 bottles of Wynns injector cleaner through my tank at twice the strength( 1 bottle to half a tank) before caning it down the M3 and over Dartmoor and noticed a fantastic improvement. True, she still smokes a bit on start up, and cold under heavy load - up a hill for example but I've stopped panicking about knackered piston rings and 'blow-by'.

I would say I'm not sure it's a great idea to use this stuff at that concentration all the time though. You're introducing a solvent into your diesel and I suppose, reducing its lubricating potential( which is why diesel engines go to higher mileages than petrol engines).

I once had a rather tired and smoky Merc 240td and a combination of injector cleaner and some wierd ' stop smoke' oil supplement that was like liquid toffee stopped it smoking for good. I guess this stuff, when you put it in your oil filler thickens up/congeals your oil and compensates for worn rings/bores. I'm pretty sure I'd steer clear of it in a turbo diesel though, anyone used this ?

Hi there - just spotted your post. As it bonds to metal surfaces, it should ease metal to metal contact, and thus reduce wear, and make things quieter. Unlike Teflon, it does not clog filters etc. As regards stopping smoke - I rather doubt that it would be effective for that purpose. I have certainly noticed the motor a lot smoother. It purrs now as opposed to grunts like it did before.

Cheers Keith Wink

It's not cheap, but does include delivery and the dreaded VAT (the prices quoted on the ZX1 website don't include either!) ...

Take a look at THIS STUFF too! Normally only available to the trade, I got a deal Wink
