I am looking for an unobtrusive way of mounting a CB antena preferably without drilling the body work of my 3L LWB Trooper. This only needs to be in place while off roading and I want something strong enough to hold a 1.5m antena; I *don't* like or want to use a mag mount.

I was wondering whether a DIY mount could be made to fix to the roof rack rails?

Also, what is the "air intake" on the roof of the Trooper? Is it an intake or some sort of spoiler? Can I route the antena cable through this or perhaps even put a mount out of site in the trough?

Regards,

Pete

Just a thought can you fit a bracket on the bolts that hold the spare wheel carrier to the rear door. When the aerial is removed the spare will hide the areial mount.
