Hi

Can anyone offer any help? We have a trooper 3.0 td 16v and it starts & runs perfectly, but the radiator is full of diesel, how has it managed to get in there ???????????????

Hope someone out there has an answer for this as it has us stumped !!

only reason i said gearbox fliud was that the cooler could have gone and transfered fluid that way. ok have you checked your engine oil? is there signs of water or a white waxy apperance around the oil cap?

At a guess its the injector sleeves or the cylinder head.

markymoan that is what i was getting at, either the head has gone or the gearbox cooler that is the only way it could get in there other than someone playing silly buggers of course

it's a common problem on the 3.0l and as marky said either the seals around the injector sleeves have gone or the head has gone porous.
do the sleeves first but bear in mind you will need a puller and a complete set of injector seals do not reuse them at any cost. sleeves are about £70 each from a dealer so quite expensive and they have to be fitted with the holes lining up with the holes in the head as this is the fuel passage.
if this cures it great but if it doesn't then your looking at a new head i'm afraid
