Can anyone give me any advice on a problem I have, I own a 93 3.1 TD and when starting from cold I get plumes of smoke out of the exhaust and after a couple of minutes of running all seems to be ok. Would i be correct in thinking that I have a leaking injector as the problem does not occur when i am driving and the oil consumption is minimal. If it is the injectors any idea who can refurb them or do they need to be replaced.

Many thanks

Barry

Is the smoke blue/white? If so it may be that the pre-heater glowplugs are on their way out. I had a similar problem with a renault until one morning it didn't start at all. Doctor fitted new ones and problem went away.
If the smoke is not blue/white not sure.

Have changed the glow plugs and problem still there so now time for new injectors cam and pump belt and then if it still smokes will be most apologetic to neighbours.
And the smoke is a grey blue white combi
