With the introduction of the new hands free law does anyone have a phone kit mounted anywhere other than to the left of the radio. Seems to be the favoured position of most kit manufactures..
Any help appreciated.

hi there
i mounted mine at the side of the drivers seat just in front of the high/low selector.
Only paid £4.99 for it from the local petrol station and it works a treat and is fully legal to the new rules enforce.
Hope this helps.

Mine is mounted to the left of the radio in my '94. I purchased the only "no holes" mounting bracket I could find, which was from Dashman. It's a lot of money for what it is (about £23), and I had to spend some time adding my own bends and creases to the bracket to enable the dash to fit back together properly.

If you don't mind making holes, or perhaps using strong double sided tape, somewhere down by the handbrake might work.

Cheers,

Steve.

Flashman,

Visit a couple of phoneshops or garages and you will see quite a few alternatives. My local petrol staion is doing one for £5...It the kit consists of a cradle that plugs direct into the cigerette lighter socket on the dash a seperate speaker the size of a cigerette packet and a mike which is kinda like an other size clothes peg and you clip it "over" the top of the phone for it to work. I don't like it because it looks a bit naff and there are too many cables.

You can get other cradles which have a built in speaker and charging circuitary ect that plug into the cigerette lighter socket which are much better they seem to go in price from £25 to £55...

Regards,

Pete
