Might be  the 5.9 B series  6 pot  cummings , good motor that  or the  3.9 4 pot with a turbo/water intercooler set up .

Only thing I would say is make sure you dont buy one that the whole front of the box has to be dismantled to tilt the cab for service or repair - no I am serious as they are out there ! Should just be flap that swings up -  I have worked on the older bedfords with the 220  and 330 engine where it was box off,cab off to get the head off .

The other thing too is see what the plated weights are as some of those boxes with the live in bit go nearly six ton with no horseys in  so if yer dobbins a big un you are near to max weight , mate of mine brought  a nice merc  814 with live in and stuff  and with his girls 2 jumpers in it  was over the 7.5 max  by 1 ton !

Also dont get one with a tow bar on as it used to put it up to a HGV and tacho status , not 100% sure how that is now though .

Or this one ?

http://www.horseandhound.co.uk/marketplace/classified/8-details-horses-trailers-and-horse-boxes_248319.htm

I have some shots of the inside and it is VERY tidy / nice.....

IF I were to let the Test pass (i.e. next few days....) How would I get it back ?
Tax has gone already.

Sorry - am I being dumb here? the reply I just had was :

"It is not a tilt cab but it is not difficult to get to the engine e.tc.

The vehicle is 7.5 tonne the train weight is 11000 ton. The axle weights are 1 – 3200 2 – 5200,
Mileage is 247,000 miles

It has a service every year by local mechanic.
"

So regarding the weights: on a C1 we can drive a Vehicle that combined with the Cargo etc is 7.5Te I believe.
What do they mean by the statement above?  Confused
It weighs in at 7.5Te empty ? Surely not.

Obviously he has his *beep* about elbow on the "Train Weight is 11000 ton" I assume, but what is he trying to say ?

I would go look at it, its possible to have a fixed cab or maybe she is confused because you do the oil and water etc behind the front panel/grille.

I think we might have a run out to look at it - you're right.

however when I got home from Work last night it appears Horsebox is no longer needed.
Apparently the horse was booked on a one way visit to the UHU Factory for being such a *beep* !!!

this Iveco is becoming more of a steal but I have some pics of the living that is pretty basic and nasty.

So I am thinking a bargain is a bargain - how easy or expensive to get done professionally - do we think it would be to go from this:

To something smarter, cleaner ?
like:

Too much ball ache / effort and I should just walk away and look at another?

Sell the horse, If you want luxury you are pushing 20k easy, better still spend 20k on a real nice camper and tow the box  Laughing

I allways thought you only need a tacho when you also need an operators licence, also a horse box comes under a non load vehicle meaning someone with grandpa rights can drive any sized one on a car licence, I drove a 70 tonne car baler totally legal before they said it was a mobile crane  Rolling Eyes
