Mr 'Ladydriver' here - she is too busy answering all her emails  Smile

Put the Trooper in for its MOT today after having a challenge with the fog lights not working and she sailed through with just one minor advisory (light shocker misting), it was quite easy understanding the wiring system and it suited my logical brain to sort out, cracked it in the end and all stemmed from iffy trailer electrics.

Result!

Excellent...number one cause of Rear Fog light failure is the so-called 'smart' towing sockets that disable the car's rear fogs when you connect the trailer up. They corrode and stop the rear fogs from working...seen it all tooooo often!
Still, its an easy fix with a scotchlock across the 'fog in' and the 'fog return' cables bypassing the coupling...

spot on - exactly the problem - and someone had hooked into the loom way back in the side panel of the truck so had to strip it all out to get to the conectors - sorted now thankfully and obvious as soon as the loom was exposed.

just needs a replacement 12N socket now lacking the terminal corrosion  Smile
