just wondering mine goes in tomorrow for the injector check and replacement.
I'm a little worried about costs.
been told i have to have a compulsory coolant drain and refill and new antifreeze £15 + vat
been told it may have to be serviced and have to pay for that.
also it has to go in for two days but been told it could go in for whatever length of time due to waiting for the confirmation from I'm for the injectors.
i need the car again from wed and I'm very unsure on whether to send it in.
also I'm a little wary of having the work done as it seams a common fault to get them back and a few months later for a injector to fail but to have no support.
the only fault i have is a random miss fire at tick over do i leave it for a little while longer ie to get a spare car and not be so inconvenienced etc. _________________

best thing is i have the genuwin filters and oil for it here and the 5 year red antifreeze and yet they wont use anything i supply.
im tempted to ring a different dealer up and take it in two trips as even tho will cost more fuel it will be checked within a few hours then when every thing is otherised goes back and have the injectors fitted _________________

hang on a sec, if it's an iz17 you don't need to pay for anything they just remove the rocker cover and check the injector serial no. if they are above it all gets replaced no cost to you if it's below then the injectors are replaced free no cost to you.
there is no need to touch anything on the coolant side unless they are changing the sleeves then it needs to be drained.
i feel you are having your leg lifted.
2 days it all it takes as if they are agreed then the dealer has to order them from i.m so will get them the next day unless i.m are out of stock but thats pretty rare now

well im going to name the garage its downeys in netownards in northern ireland.
they say they need the car for 48 hours need it in 8.30am tomorrow they will look at injectors asap.
get in touch with im to get go ahead with work.
injectors on site so fitted as soon as ok given.
told min charge £15 + vat for antifreeze and has to be done.
also told they may have to change oil as well and will be charged acordenly.
as mine is not adding diesel to oil i dont see why it would need any.
i think there trying to make a few quid while its in. also not sure on how long im take to get the green light to do the repair _________________

pretty much the same day but sometimes it can take an extra day, if your in doubt what you have to pay for then phone i.m tomorrow but there is no need to drain the coolant at all for just the check. |

DAB.
I had my injectors replaced last November. Garage changed engine oil and all filters (other than air filter) FOC. I'd changed oil and filters 300 miles before recall! Radiator wasn't touched.
Cheers. |
