Suddenly while driving on the motorway in pouring rain I was aware my 3.0l Insignia DT Auto -year 2000 was having trouble pulling the horse trailer up hills but at 60-65mph on the flat it seemed fine. Got it to the local garage who changed both fuel filters and put 2 bottles of injector cleaner into it and told me off for filling up at Tesco as the filters were clogged. Been a good girl and only put Esso and BP in since then but still the engine is sluggish at between 30-45mph. It has had 2 sets of injectors done by main dealer on recall in 2007 and June 2009. They now want to do a click test for £116 just to see if injectors are at fault. Has anyone else had this problem and should I try a specialist injector firm instead of main dealer or could it be something entirely differently wrong                    javascript:emoticon('Question')javascript:emoticon('Crying or Very sad')

could be a no. of things, turbo on the way out, blocked manifold pressure sensor, corroded fuel lines, orps a main dealer is the best option for these vehicles as you really need a tech 2 to access the ecu and see what's happening

Oh dear- local garage already put 2 bottles of Comma injector cleaner in tank but it didn't help. Car is at main dealer at moment and they did a click test yesterday to find out No 3 and 4 injectors are failing. They now want to strip it down for another £175 just to get serial nos to send to Isuzu to get authorisation to fix. They apparently might do it on a good will gesture as injectors were only replaced in June 09 so within 2 years. He seemed to imply that no Troopers had been denied if replaced within 2 years yet so it is a gamble or I will have to cough up £1700 but will get 4 new injectors. Is it worth just asking for car back and paying the explority fee £250-£300 then taking it to AP Deisels in Egham, Surrey  where they could put reconditioned ones in for £700 for 2 of them if Isuzu won't honour the failure???

avoid reconditioned injectors as once bits are replaced it alters the amount of fuel injected so the grading is useless unless they can tell you what the grade of the reconned injector is going to be, and if they tell you it will be the same then avoid them as it will change due to machining tolerances. isuzu are paying for injectors under 2 yrs old so it would be worth going main dealer at the minute at least they should know about the grading process

Took the gamble and got Isuzu  garage to request injector replacement and they came up trumps as it was within 2 years since they last replaced injectors. So all you people out there with this same problem should badger your local Isuzu dealer as this came from Isuzu Head Office. They replaced all 4 injectors ,washed the car and brought it back to me for initial 1st part of click test fee so only paid £35.72 not £1700!!! Good luck all you 3.0l Trooper owners- I've now had 3 new sets of injectors---surely these can't fail !!! :javascript:emoticon('Very Happy')
