Hi, I've just bought a '96 3.1D Bighorn with a non operating rear o/s window. Having unglued (!) the door card and removeed the bit of wood that was supposed to hold the window up, I've worked out that the regulator is U/S. One of the cables was snapped and wrapped around the cable drum. The motor works, but I'm guessing that I have to replace the complete asembly. Any tips/guidance on how to get the old one out & new one in? Also where can I get door card clips from? Cheers, Jim |

OH did mine a few weeks back, says it's pretty easy. Drop the window 2 thirds down, and you'll see the 10mm bolts that hold the glass. Undo these and slide window back up getting someone to support it, ( this is where I helped ), undo electric plug, undo the 7 x 10mm bolts holding mechanism, twist it a bit and it slides out of the bottom of the door.
Reverse that to refit.
And sods law, now he's fixed that window for me, the other ones broked!! Oh well, at least he knows how to do it. _________________ If you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem. |
