Sounds like a good value weekend. Tong is where the Monty was confirmed as an "off roader" so it would be good to go back there again. I'll have to get her MOT'd then... or do the MOT rules not count for private events ?

Vehicles do not have to be road legal but they do have to be safe so no scrap yard specials, there are also rules on tyres, they have to be of a road legal type so that means no dumper tyres  Laughing

Hi there

I'll probably head over there for a day (it'd be rude not to seeing as it's only about 15 miles away).  Doing a Jimny event there in a couple of weeks in my other drive (well, the wife's drive - I'm slowly grooming her for off road success (that's the Jimbo, not swmbo! Very Happy  ))

Are you sure about road legals Mark - the rules for the Jimny event are very strict Question

Cheers

Mick

Cheers Mark!

I'm fully legal anyway, it's just that there have been 'words' on one of the Jimny forums about Tong's policy.

If we book for one day do we have to say which day yet?

Normal policy is you have to take all your paperwork and they give you a card dated to when your first thing expired, they had a lot of trouble with folks turning up in scrappers or even stolen trucks  Shocked

If you book one day as a daytripper then you can choose which you turn up on, just let us know just before so we can make sure the gate is open  Smile

is this event only open to fully paid up members of itocuk?

i often ride my motocross bike at tong on the weekends when the 4x4's arnt there . ( they wont let us on at the same time) but i have never taken my trooper there . (95 swb 3.1 ) . the site is very good and its true there is a lot there from simple woodland tracks to what looks almost impossible . deep ruts cutting between trees at very strange angles.. not anything you would attempt in a normal road go er anyway.. oh and its true there are portapottys there but they can get a bit grim - i know my girlfriend wasnt too happy when she needed to use it Very Happy .
